BOP is one of a few artistic jazz dance & theatre production companies existing in the UK and has built a worthy reputation for producing original and exciting jazz dance and musical theatre productions.
As an artistic company, BOP creates original jazz dance theatre and concert productions for its own repertoire, alongside collaborative and commissioned projects with and for other international dance companies, theatre organisations and producers.
BOP creates for the 21st Century through contemporary jazz dance theatre, that both recognizes and reflects the historical traditions of the jazz idiom. Using a live jazz ensemble in performance, the synergy between jazz dance and music is continually refined and developed, producing exciting jazz and theatre productions that both express and advance the jazz dance aesthetic.
BOP continues to be a pivotal force in the on going journey of the improvisers art form whilst paying homage to the great jazz artists, musicians and composers that have gone before.
BOP has and continues to create and produce an ever-growing repertoire of quality theatre, music and dance productions, concerts and commissioned jazz theatre pieces for presentation in medium to large-scale venues nationally and internationally.
