Jazz Music Workshops
The workshops and residency's that BOP offer draw on all Paul's experience and expertise within the creative jazz idiom. Practical music making is at the forefront of all implemented music workshops and BOP looks to develop long-term partnerships with educational establishments and providers both here in the UK and Internationally.
Over the last 20 years, Paul as an individual practitioner and as a director of BOP has been at the forefront of Jazz Music Education. In 1988 he produced his first jazz curriculum for the classroom devising, developing and implementing a program of jazz studies that reflected all aspects of the improvisers art.
In the early 1990's he developed a series of jazz workshops that took jazz music into mainstream education in all sectors, enabling creative music making for all abilities. He founded and directed the Richmond Youth Jazz Orchestra and the Richmond Youth Jazz Ensemble performing in a variety of venues including the Fairfield Halls, Richmond Theatre, Bulls Head, Barnes and whose alumni include; Joe Caleb, Quentin Collins, Mike Olatuja, Andrew McCormack.
Paul managed and implemented weekend jazz workshops in Shene and delivered inset teacher training and workshops across numerous educational authorities in London. In the late 1990's he developed and implemented a BTEC Music National Diploma at Richmond Tertiary College that combined jazz and pop performance studies along with music technology and recording techniques. Paul presently delivers A Level Music Technology, alongside a comprehensive jazz performance program at Reeds School, Cobham.

The BOP Jazz Music Programs are developed and implemented in conjunction with all collaborative educational partners and offer bespoke and unique educational opportunities to engage, inspire and advance the 'budding music artists' creative and musical development.
